St. Margarets is a rights-based service, working in partnership with adults with disabilities and their families / significant people in their lives, in line with each individuals will, preference and choice.

The Role : The Discovery Coordinator is a central support for the individual using the service, helping them to develop their confidence to express their will and preference, and exercise their rights and choices in relation to all aspects of their life and lifestyle.

The Discovery Coordinator develops strategies with the individual to focus on their choices and assists them to consider how they would like to live their life now and in the future.

The ideal candidate : Has experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.

The ability to actively sustain engagement with a person, developing roles and activities and building and maintaining relationships.

A sound knowledge of UNCRPD, the Assisted Decision-Making Act, and the HSE National Consent Policy.

A good knowledge of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) / Supported Self-Directed Living (SSDL) High level of spoken & written English.

High levels of IT literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Hold a full clean drivers licence.

The successful candidate will be required to attend intensive SSDL training.

Qualifications : A third-level education in social care or related fields.
