Grade IV - Clerical Officer

Internal and External Competition Grade IV Clerical Officer (Permanent / Temporary, Full-time / Part-Time) Applications are invited for the above post from suitably qualified persons The Grade IV Clerical Officer is responsible for leading and delivering administrative support services to teams and professionals within their designated area. This includes ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures while performing duties in a professional and efficient manner. The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office, possess : Qualifications : A recognised and relevant qualification in administration, medical or similar of at least Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI). Ability to demonstrate excellent keyboard and Dictation skills is essential. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Word, Excel, Outlook, Access & SharePoint). Aptitude for computing- ICDL (former ECDL) qualification is essential. Good working knowledge of Hospital Administration Systems is essential. Experience & Skills : The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience of working in an administrative capacity. Previous experience in a hospital administration, healthcare or Out-patient setting would be an advantage. Experience dealing with staff, patients, visitors and members of the public is an advantage. Minute taking experience desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage. Have excellent knowledge of general office procedures. The ability to work as part of a team. Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong writing skills. Must be highly motivated and able to prioritise. The successful postholder will be required to be flexible in this position and may be expected to occasionally work outside normal working hours if required. The post is pensionable. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and temporary of full or part-time duration may be filled. The tenure of these posts will be indicated at "expression of interest" stage. Salary for this post is aligned with Clerical Officer Grade IV pay-scale.
