Road Freight Operations Manager

Title : Road Freight Operations Manager Location : Dublin 12 Terms : Full-Time, Permanent, Office-Based work Package : €60,000 - €70,000, Pension & Commision A well-established Dublin-based haulage company, currently expanding its operations with the creation of a dedicated EU / UK Road Freight Forwarding Division. As part of this exciting growth, our client is looking for a motivated Road Freight Operations Manager to join our team and play a key role in shaping and driving this new department forward. This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing Team Leader or Supervisor in the road freight industry who is ready to take the next step in their career. Youll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our new EU / UK road freight department, helping to build efficient workflows, manage a team, and develop lasting relationships with clients In the initial phase, this position will require a highly hands-on and versatile approach. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a broad range of responsibilities across operations, administration, and client interaction. A flexible and proactive mindset will be essential, as the role will involve contributing to all aspects of the divisions setup and day-to-day functioning. Key Responsibilities : Manage the operational setup and launch of the new road freight division. Oversee day-to-day road freight activities across EU and UK routes. Recruit, lead, and manage a small team as the division grows. Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless integration. Work closely with clients to deliver top-class service and operational excellence. Assist in building and refining SOPs and departmental procedures. Maintain compliance with EU / UK road freight regulations and company policies. Contribute to strategic decisions regarding routes, pricing, and partnerships. Business Development Ideal Candidate : 5+ years of experience in road freight / logistics operations. Experience in managing or supervising staff within a freight / logistics setting. Proven knowledge of EU / UK road freight regulations and best practices. Experience or involvement in setting up new operational departments within a company is highly desirable. A strong existing client network is a significant advantage. Hands-on, solutions-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
