Title of Job / Grade : Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for Surgery Reports to : Director of Nursing Reporting relationships : CNM III, CNM II, CNM I, Staff Nurse, HCA, Support Workers Type of Contract : Permanent - Full Time Applications are invited for the above position of Assistant Director of Nursing - Surgical Services. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and enjoy the challenges of working in a dynamic team environment and possess the following skills at a minimum : Essential Qualifications Registered with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register with NMBI Essential Experience 7 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting within the last 9 years. Post Graduate Diploma in either Theatre or Perioperative Nursing Minimum of 4 years management experience at CNM2 or CNM3 level within the last 7 years Completed a Management Programme or Commitment to undertake a relevant Management Qualification following appointment Desirable Experience MSc in Nursing / Management / Leadership Essential Competencies Strong leadership and communication skills Proven ability in the areas of people management, resource management, conflict resolution, problem solving, decision making, change & innovation, organisational knowledge and operational planning Excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills essential Experience of personal & professional development Knowledge of Quality, & safety management, Patient Safety & Risk management Informal enquiries to CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS 18TH JULY 2025 Bon Secours Health System is an equal opportunities employer.
