Role Summary
We are looking for a Safety & Compliance Manager in Ireland. The role will report directly to the Accountable Manager. The Safety & Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the safety management, regulatory compliance, and HESS compliance programs within the business unit.
To ensure company standardization, this role will also report to The Director of Global Safety and Quality.
By leading the safety and quality department, you are required to give safety and quality advice to the local management team and the corporate organization.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Safety & Compliance Manager are :
Safety & Compliance duties :
- Liaise with customers and vendors on quality matters
- Liaise with the regulator on safety and quality matters
- Responsible for the organization’s quality audit program
- Ensure that issues affecting quality are investigated, tracked, and monitored
- Ensure all findings are monitored and that corrective and preventive actions are completed
- Influence the business to address quality and / or product safety issues
- Ensure compliance with the organization’s Safety Management System
- Monitor all pertinent proactive and reactive safety reports and where necessary, ensure that appropriate support to deliver follow-up action is taken
- Manage the certification authorities (ACA, SCA) in accordance with policies and procedures
- Ensure that Service Difficulty Reports are submitted to the regulatory authorities
- Responsible for the monitoring and updating of the SMS database
Regulatory Compliance duties :
Responsible to the Accountable Manager for safetyAct as the primary liaison between the company and regulatory authoritiesEnsure that compliance documentation and certificates meet regulatory requirements and business needsEnsure that the quality audit plan covers all activities under the scope of approval of the organization and escalates issues that require management interventionHealth, Environment, Safety and Security duties :
Oversee HESS compliance and ensures safety promotion & legislative requirements are metMonitor and oversee the Emergency Response PlanMay include other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will have the following :

A minimum of 10 years of experience in an operational environment EssentialAccredited training in aviation safety management disciplines EssentialUniversity degree or aviation trade in a technical discipline DesirableIncident investigator qualification DesirableLead auditor qualification DesirablePossesses a maintenance engineer license and is capable of holding a nominated role from the IAA EssentialAbility to travel internationally EssentialSkills / Experience :
Working knowledge of quality tools and ICAO Annex 19 EssentialKnowledge of regulations applicable to the organization EssentialExperience as part of or leading an incident investigation EssentialDemonstrated experience in the rotary wing / SAR air operators environment DesirableDemonstrated experience in fixed-wing or general aviation environments DesirableDemonstrated experience in Health, Safety and Environmental Management DesirableExperienced with Safety Management Systems EssentialStrong knowledge of MS Office software suite EssentialAttributes / Behaviours :
