The Role :

You will be responsible for the month-end process and Financial controls in Retail Business. Additionally, the role includes supporting payroll operations, cash flow, developing internal controls, providing leadership, and overseeing system improvements.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end closing process, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide valuable insights to the business on performance in a timely manner
• Champion finance system improvements and automation initiatives
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve processes
• Ensure strong financial controls are maintained across all processes
• Develop and document internal policies and procedures
• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities. Implement effective strategies to minimize operational costs and enhance profitability.
• Lead the preparation of short-term cash flow forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities
• Supporting payroll operations with the HR team, escalating any issues as necessary.
• Assist in dealing with auditors, preparing financial statements and communicate with tax advisors regarding local tax filings.
• Manage the annual budgeting process and ensure departmental budgets are aligned with corporate goals.
• Monitor departmental spending and report on discrepancies.
• Liaise with Group Reporting & FPA teams on monthly reporting and commentary
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Build and sustain effective working relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization and help drive key decisions and changes.
