We are looking for  compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistants to join our healthcare team.

Intellectual Disability Day Service based in Letterkenny

We currently have a vacancy for a full time and part time health care assistant in Letterkenny.

Hours are 09 : 00 – 17 : 00 Monday to Thursday and 09 : 00- 14 : 00 Fridays. Occasionally 8am start.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients, monitoring their condition and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient care including personal care. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Personal care- assisting with bathing / showering, washing, shaving, oral hygiene and continence requirements
• General observations and updating patient records Providing support and encouragement to patients
• Manual handling- using hoists / slide sheets

Requirements :

• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support (or equivalent – minimum 2 modules including Care Skills & Care of the Older Person)
• Relevant experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience working with behaviours of concern would be a significant advantage
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
• Manual Handling & Patient Moving Training (we can provide free of charge)
• Safety Intervention Training( We can provide free of charge)
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills
