Warehouse Manager

Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations within a fast-paced environment

Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness

Lead, train, and develop a team of yard staff ensuring high levels of engagement and performance

Maintain health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations

Manage inventory accuracy, stock control, and warehouse organisation

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste

Work closely with other departments such as transport and customer service teams to ensure smooth logistics operations

Analyse operational data to drive improvements and report key performance metrics

Coordinate the movement of materials within the yard, ensuring proper storage and organization

Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery

Utilize forklifts and other equipment to safely load and unload materials

Requirements

Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager ideally within the building material distribution industry

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations

Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of team development

Knowledge of warehouse management systems and stock control processes

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced setting

Ability to drive performance improvements and implement process enhancements

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Proven experience in set up and launch of a new distribution hub
