The Great National South Court Hotel is seeking a reliable and attentive Night Porter to join our Front Office team in Raheen, Limerick. Working as part of the night team, the Night Porter will be responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service while ensuring the safety and security of both our guests and the property. The successful candidate will be detailoriented, capable of working independently, and committed to maintaining a professional and welcoming environment. This role is based on night shifts from 11 : 30pm to 7 : 30am.
Primary Responsibilities of this role includes :
- Receiving a complete Passover from the manager on Duty and the Front Office Team.
- Greeting guests and providing door service when needed and ensure that the customer receives the highest quality of service from you during their visit to the hotel.
- Handle guest requests, inquiries, and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Check in and out hotel guests as required as well as assisting with guest requests in relation to luggage / porterage.
- Responsible for the cleaning of areas in the hotel including, but not restricted to public areas, food & beverage outlets and other areas as directed by manager on duty and also as per nightly checklist.
- Responsible for the preparation and set up of function / meeting rooms, replenishing and servicing when required to the required standard.
- To serve residents in the lobby for resident's bar.
- To ensure that all breakfast room service cards are collected each night & prepare trays for the morning.
- Answering any telephone calls that come to the switch and deal with them in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
- Locking up and reopening the premises at the appropriate times.
- Extinguishing and switch on lighting at the appropriate times.
- Ensuring that the night porters check list is completed before the end of your shift and to Passover relevant information to Reception / Early Duty Manager.
- The safety and security of the hotel guests, staff, and you, yourself are very important elements of your position. It is of the utmost importance that you remain alert at all times.
- You must be fully aware of the procedures that you must follow in the event of an emergency, who you have to contact and what are the first steps you must take. Carry out security checks of entire hotel building on a regular basis.
What we are looking for :
Previous hospitality experience is essential.The ability to work on their own initiative, as well as being capable of working as part of a team.A warm, friendly and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests. Excellent customer service and telephone skills.Must have a reasonable knowledge of software packages - Microsoft word, email.Fluent EnglishHave full permission or hold a valid visa to work in the EU.Benefits that we can offer
