Role Title : Clinical Nurse Manager III : Ambulatory Care, MED Directorate Job Reference Number : 001666 Closing Date : Sunday, 5th October 2025 Purpose of the Role : The role of the Clinical Nurse Manager III is pivotal to contribute to and support patient flow, access, quality, and team enhancement within GUIDE, Hepatology, and support the MED Ambulatory Care services. Key Duties and Responsibilities The post holder is assigned to MED Ambulatory Care Day services and will support the ADON and CNM III colleagues in the MED Pillar in innovation and service developments. Key areas of management include the GUIDE and Hepatology Departments in St James Hospital (SJH). An additional area will be added to this role in January 2026. The role of Clinical Nurse Manager III is pivotal to the co-ordination and management of the services and resources within the Department and across SJH. The CNM III shows a capacity to adopt a leadership stance, make an impact, and influences, energises, and inspires others in the organisation. The key roles and responsibilities include : Management of GUIDE, Hepatology, and other assigned areas, ensuring an effective, efficient, and quality care service. Promote collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT). Embracing change and acts to implement evidence based practice. Efficient management of human and fiscal resources in all areas assigned. Manage nursing and HCA recruitment and vacancies in all key areas. Develop business cases to meet emerging demands in line with the Hospital strategy and national trends in healthcare needs. Planning service and nursing innovations and developments. Work with the ADON in supporting the integrated pathways in Ambulatory Care. Ensuring an effective learning and development environment for all members of staff. The post holder provides management leadership for the Advanced Nurse Practitioners, where appropriate. A key part of this role is supporting the pathways for all of the promotional nursing grades in GUIDE and Hepatology ensuring all nursing activity is captured and reported. This involves collaboration with IMS and Business Intelligence (BI) colleagues ensuring all promotional grades are availing of the correct system to capture and report on data. Working with the nursing and HCA teams to audit services and develop and present findings from Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) in their area of work. Be a key member of the CNM III council in the Hospital, ensuring MED Ambulatory services are represented in Hospital projects. Monitors all complaints and liaises with the ADON to ensure compliance with complaint procedures. Proactively manages quality and safety standards. Ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager III must adhere to the Code of Professional Practice and Behaviours for Registered Nurses.Is aware of and understands the need to adhere to Hospital and / or professional standards, policies, and procedures, relevant to their area of practice. Communicates effectively in English language, both written and spoken, as appropriate to job requirements. Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to Health and Safety as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement. Ensure own mandatory learning and training is kept up to date.
