FT offers consultancy services across a broad spectrum of renewable energy projects, including offshore and onshore wind, utility-scale solar PV, biomass, and micro-hydro power.
The company also delivers expert support for gas pipeline developments, electrical infrastructure such as battery storage systems, peaking plants, and energy-from-waste facilities.
FT provides end-to-end consultancy—from initial site assessments and liaison with local authorities, through to generator design, planning application preparation, and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), as well as design oversight, construction management, and contract administration.
FT is seeking to hire a
Senior Energy Engineer
to join our
Energy team
in our Cork, Dublin or Carlow office.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of our Energy and Planning division, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.
This role provides the opportunity to work across a wide range of activities within the Energy and Planning sector, including project management, environmental assessments and preliminary design for renewable energy developments.
Responsibilities
Deliver projects in line with agreed timelines, quality standards, and budgets set with the client
Oversee and coordinate the preparation of CAD design documentation, collaborating closely with Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians
Participate in on-site meetings with clients and other project stakeholders
Maintain adherence to internal Quality Assurance and Management Systems
Ensure activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations
Collaborate effectively with other members of the project team to ensure seamless project delivery
Qualifications
A degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience
Chartered Engineer status
Experience in managing the preliminary civil design of renewable energy projects is advantageous but not essential
Highly motivated professional with strong energy and drive
Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical abilities
Proven experience liaising with clients, sub-contractors, and external stakeholders
Adaptable and collaborative team player
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
