Principal Temporary Works Design Engineer | Hillsborough Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading civil engineering and construction group who deliver some of the UK and Ireland's most complex infrastructure projects. As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking a Principal Temporary Works Design Engineer to join their team in Hillsborough. This is a key technical role where you will lead the development and delivery of temporary works solutions, with a particular focus on geotechnical and ground engineering challenges, supporting large scale civil engineering and building projects across the UK and Ireland. Your new role as Principal Temporary Works Design Engineer You will be responsible for : Leading the design and checking of temporary works solutions across a wide variety of infrastructure and building projects Providing technical leadership in geotechnical temporary works, including earthworks support, retaining structures, foundations and stability assessments Coordinating with project delivery teams to ensure practical, safe and efficient designs that meet site requirements Managing temporary works registers and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards Liaising with clients, project managers, subcontractors and regulators on all matters relating to temporary works Supporting and mentoring junior engineers to build capability within the team What you will need to succeed as Principal Temporary Works Design Engineer To be considered for this role, you should have : A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with Chartered status (ICE or IStructE) Significant consultancy or contractor experience in temporary works design Expertise in geotechnical temporary works including excavation support, piling platforms, slope stability and ground movement assessments Strong working knowledge of relevant design codes and temporary works procedures Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and mentor junior staff The ability to deliver safe, practical and buildable solutions under time and budget pressures What's in it for you If successful, you will benefit from : A salary of up to £65,000 plus car allowance and a comprehensive benefits package The opportunity to work on major, complex projects across the UK and Ireland A senior role with clear scope to influence design strategy and project delivery Professional development support and opportunities to progress further in a market leading organisation For a confidential discussion on this or other senior engineering opportunities, contact Brian Mitchell at Vickerstock Recruitment Skills : Geotechnical Engineer Temporary Works Slope Stability Benefits : + Car Allowance + Package
