Azure Cloud DBA

Our client is looking for a skilled Cloud DBA to support the management and optimisation of cloud-native databases deployed in Microsoft Azure. The role requires close collaboration with the DBA Manager, Cloud Engineering, Digital Development, DevOps, Security, and Analytics teams to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of cloud database services. You will have proven experience as a DBA or Database Developer in an Azure cloud environment and some of your key responsibilities will be as follows : Implement and automate database backup processes, including reporting and restoration testing. Develop, document, and test disaster recovery (DR) plans with defined recovery objectives. Set up monitoring dashboards, alerts, and conduct regular reviews with stakeholders. Perform regular health checks covering performance, storage, backups, and security. Analyse and tune database queries / code for performance improvements. Conduct security and compliance audits, implement encryption, and review database access. Provision and scale database resources, documenting changes and recommendations. Support DevOps and CI / CD pipelines with automated deployments and schema updates. Maintain documentation and deliver knowledge transfer / training to internal teams.
