Quantity Surveyor Senior Management Level : Salary / Remuneration Package Negotiable Job description : Overall Purpose Of Job : We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Quantity Surveyor to carry out all Professional Quantity Surveying Functions at Senior Management Level The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing construction costs of projects including : Re-Measurement Issue Up To Date Costs / Estimates / BOQ's To The Clients PQS, Issue Monthly Valuations Track, Record And Report All Variations On A Regular Basis Throughout The Contract. Liaise with the Clients Design Team directly as and when required. Report directly to the Surveying Director on all estimating and surveying budgets on contracts which you are responsible for. Pre Contract Procedure / Estimating 1. Preparing of all pre-contract tender documentation. 2. Writing specifications for the works. 3. Taking off quantities from Architects, Engineers and other Consultants Drawings 4. Sending out enquiries- elements of Bills of Quantities to all Subcontractors, Suppliers to obtain quotations and evaluating and vetting all quotations 6. Site Visits prior to submission of tenders to ascertain any difficulties. 7. Completion and submission of all tender documents to form a compliant bid Value Engineering Advising on alternative methods / materials / techniques which may lead to savings. Advising on environmentally friendly greener building process where possible. Valuation, Variations and Final Accounts : Re-measurement on site, Preparation of full detailed re-measurement BOQ Preparing all valuations including adjustment of Preliminaries PC and Provisional Sums. Preparing of variations - Dayworks and any additions or omissions Final Account - Re-measurement of the works and agreement of same. Pursue Release of Retention and Guarantee Bond Preparation of Contractual Claims -loss or Expense, Prolongation of the Contract, Disruption of the works resulting from Variations etc. Increased costs claim Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree BSc in Quantity Surveying (preferred) 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry (commercial & residential) Excellent negotiation and contract management skills Knowledge of estimating packages i.e. Buildsoft, Cubit, Excel And Bluebeam are essential to the role. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
