Job Description
Are you an experienced Hydrogeologist ready to make an impact on Ireland's most pressing environmental challenges?
Join our growing Water team, where you\'ll be at the forefront of projects that address everything from climate change adaptation to public housing initiatives.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional to support our projects through expert field and desk-based work, delivering successful solutions to both private and public sector clients.
The role will require travel across Ireland and occasional overnight stays.
The ideal candidate is grounded in field aspects of hydrogeology, and is motivated and enthusiastic, with an eye for detail.
This is a permanent, full-time role within a friendly, supportive environment that offers opportunities for career development in a leading multi-disciplinary planning and environmental consultancy.
The role requires the successful candidate to :
Scope, cost, plan and manage hydrological and hydrogeological field programmes, which includes environmental sampling and monitoring.
Prepare contract documents for site investigations (e.g. technical specifications and bills of quantities).
Supervise drilling operations, well installations, and hydraulic testing.
Process, manage, and interpret hydrogeological data (incl. environmental monitoring data).
Contribute to high-quality reporting, including the use of innovative means of communication and sharing.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors and colleagues to contribute to efficient project execution.
Support and advice other MKO teams (e.g. ecologists, environmental scientists).
Contribute to proposals and marketing activity, in collaboration with colleagues.
Champion health and safety guidelines and regulations.
What we're looking for in you
We\'re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hydrogeologist.
A MSc degree in Hydrogeology.
A MSc in a related science may be considered depending on completed coursework and the candidate's prior work experience.
4-7 years of practical experience as a field hydrogeologist, with demonstrated duties that are consistent with the requirements listed above.
Familiarity with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive and EPA codes of practices or manuals for contaminated land management and the assessment of effluent discharges.
Experience with processing, screening, and technical analyses of soils, groundwater, and surface water chemistry data.
Demonstrated knowledge of geochemical and hydrochemical processes.
User-level experience with geographic information systems.
Excellent spoken and written English skills, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Full, clean driving licence.
Ideally, you will also possess :
Fluency - MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Familiarity with AutoCAD software.
Familiarity with AI technology and tools.
Familiarity with python and R-scripting for statistical analyses, trend analyses, and workflow automation.
Prior experience working on detailed quantitative risk assessments.
Prior experience working in karst environments and flood risk assessments.
