AWS is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) Design Team in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities

Work with other design and engineering professionals on concepts and build projects.

Create, review and release data center Civil Engineering designs.

Manage the portfolio of data center designs and features.

Develop and maintain CSA Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for civil engineering systems.

Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including review of civil engineering designs such as roads, drainage, civil site works, bulk earthworks, cut / fill analysis, retaining walls; evaluate civil engineering design options and assess civil engineering calculation assumptions.

Evaluate reports and define scope for geotechnical investigation testing.

Create, review and release civil engineering design Requests For Pricing.

Manage external design consultants.

Coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers.

Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.

Work on multiple data center build and capital investment projects simultaneously.

Travel for site assessments, consultant selection activities, internal design meetings, construction review, interface with AHJs, design consultants, quantity surveyors, and building owners.

Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%.

Demonstrate ability to evaluate the constructability of new technologies and determine construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Perform and present business case analysis.

Proficient with civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.

A day in the life : Lead designs for AWS data centers in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography and influence other projects globally.

As a DC Civil Engineer, you will be part of a creative design team solving problems and challenging the status quo, providing technical guidance and owning Civil Engineering design requirements.
