Job Title : CFD Support Engineer / Airflow & Thermal Simulation Engineer (Data Centre Cooling) Contract Type : Fixed Term Contract Contract Length : 12 months Location : DUB19-Corp Office (Dublin, IE) - Onsite, 5 days a week Hourly Rate : €28.87 About the Role : Join our dynamic mechanical engineering team as a CFD Support Engineer! You'll collaborate with seasoned engineers and key stakeholders to enhance the efficiency of our global infrastructure. With access to top-notch office space, tools, and computational resources, you'll be set up for success! Skills : Experienced in Conduct CFD analysis of airflow and cooling performance in data centres using tools like HELYX, OpenFOAM, or similar. Experience in HVAC, data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building services. Solid understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer fundamentals. Hands-on experience with CFD tools (e.g., HELYX, OpenFOAM, ANSYS, SimScale, or similar) is essential Basic Python scripting and Excel data analysis skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Eagerness to learn AWS-specific design requirements and CFD workflows. What You'll Do : Post-process simulation results and create clear visual summaries for senior engineers. Validate CFD models against real-world data and operational benchmarks. Collaborate with design and sustainability teams to assess cooling performance and water use impacts. Contribute to the development and refinement of in-house modelling tools. Document model assumptions, simulation inputs, and result interpretations. Engage in knowledge-sharing and learn AWS-specific standards and CFD workflows. Occasionally support thermal or water model efforts on experimental designs or emerging technologies. Qualifications : Familiarity with psychometrics, airside economizers, or evaporative cooling systems. Exposure to scripting or automation of CFD workflows (e.g., Python, bash, macros). Awareness of sustainability metrics like Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) or Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). Enthusiasm for supporting sustainable, scalable, high-performance infrastructure. Bachelor's degree (or working toward one) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field Why Join Us?
