Your new role includes
Analyze blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs for all scopes of work.
Obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare bid packages and final estimates for submission.
Participate in bid reviews and project handovers.
Assist project managers with budget development and cost tracking.
Maintain a database of unit costs and historical pricing.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
Experience you need
3+ years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry (commercial, residential, or civil).
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
Proficient in estimating software.
Strong math and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license; ability to travel to project sites if needed.
