We're working with a leading global reinsurance company seeking a talented Manager – Model Validation to join their Capital & Risk Solutions (CRS) team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in model risk oversight within a dynamic and highly regarded organisation.

The role sits within the second line of defence, providing independent validation of models used across the business, ensuring they are robust, well governed, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

Independently validate pricing, valuation, and experience study models, assessing design, assumptions, inputs, outputs, and performance.

Produce clear, high-quality validation reports; communicate findings to stakeholders; and track remediation actions to resolution.

Support and enhance the model risk management framework, including model classification and inventory maintenance.

Prepare model risk reports for senior management and contribute to governance committee discussions.

Collaborate with actuarial and business teams to provide challenge, oversight, and guidance on model development and usage.

Contribute to broader risk management activities, including reviews of new transactions, risk strategies, and ad hoc projects.

Candidate Profile

Qualified actuary with 3–5+ years' experience in insurance or reinsurance.

Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to quickly grasp new modelling platforms or languages.

Excellent communication and report writing skills with confidence to challenge stakeholders.

High attention to detail; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with R, Prophet, Excel / VBA is an advantage.
