Do you want to become an innovative Senior Manager Data Engineer who thrives on developing new solutions to solve tough challenges? Optum Insight is committed to delivering new technology and processes to improve the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflow using modern modern deep learning and GenAI techniques and other state-of-the-art technology that would ultimately benefit all stakeholders involved in the healthcare ecosystem — payers, providers, and patients. As a Senior Manager Data Engineering at Optum, you will put your technical skills to work as you empower business partners and team members improve healthcare delivery.

You will research cutting edge big data tools, and design innovative data products / solutions to solve business problems that only a Data Engineer can, to support our team of AI Engineers and Researchers.

You will be an important member of a team focused on innovation; developing proofs of concepts that leverage data in new and exciting ways.

It will give you a great opportunity to flex and learn best practices in the industry working with data both on-prem and in cloud. Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic or Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines using modern / appropriate platforms (Databricks / Spark / DBT)
• Design and build orchestration layer in in AWS to drive automation of data ingestion.
• Processing and Cleaning of data.
• Design and build best in class processes to clean and standardize data.
• Troubleshoot downstream production issues in our AWS Environments
• Tuning and optimizing data processes
• Work on Proof of Concepts for Big Data and Data Science
• Design innovative and best in class Data Architectures that comply with enterprise standards
• Lead, mentor, train team of junior Data Engineers.
• Partner with Product Managers / AI Engineering Teams to design data structures and pipelines that meet and exceed the goals for the products You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications : Proven hands-on experience of the following :
• SQL models development
• Developing processes in Spark / Databricks
• Writing complex SQL queries
• Building ETL / data pipelines
• Exposure to Kubernetes or Docker
• Related / complementary open-source software platforms and languages (e.g.

Scala, Python, Java, Linux) (Python preferred)
