About the Role We are seeking an experienced and driven Event Director to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of up to 15-20 annual events, ranging from intimate C-suite networking to large-scale public showcases such as the new 20,000-attendee European Motor Show.

This is a leadership role within the event management team.

You will take direct project ownership of two of our largest and most complex events – the Dublin Tech Summit(May 26') and the European Motor Show (Jan 26') – while also overseeing the team responsible for the planning and delivery of the remaining events, including the prestigious Business & Finance Awards.

The ideal candidate will combine high-level strategic thinking with hands-on project execution, and bring a strong track record of delivering large-scale B2C and B2B experiences.

Key Responsibilities Lead and directly manage the successful end-to-end delivery of our two flagship events : European Motor Show (public-facing, large-scale B2C expo)

Oversee a year-round calendar of up to 20 events, providing leadership and operational support to a team of 3 Event Managers responsible for event execution.

Take full responsibility for project planning, operations, logistics, timelines, stakeholder management, and financial oversight for key flagship events.

Supervise reporting, project tracking, and budget monitoring across the wider event programme, ensuring delivery is on-brand, on-budget, and on time.

Work closely with internal teams – marketing, sales, editorial, and design – to align event goals and outputs with broader business objectives.

Champion budget management as a core responsibility; own forecasting, reconciliations, cost-efficiencies, and ROI reporting, working closely with the finance team to ensure all cashflow and cost tracking is accurate, up to date for all brands.

Maintain high standards of client, sponsor, and partner experience across all touchpoints.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve systems, processes, and team productivity.

Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and negotiations across all events.

Support integrated event strategies with digital / webinar components where relevant.

Essential Experience & Skills : 8+ years of event / project management experience, ideally within a media, expo, or live entertainment environment.

Proven leadership in managing a portfolio of events varying in size and audience Hands-on experience delivering large-scale B2C and B2B events (min of 8,000+ attendees).

Excellent financial acumen with strong experience owning and reporting on budgets.

Excellent attention to detail, written and spoken English, copywriting / drafting skills, understanding of brand tone of voice and ensuring copy is drafted with the target audience in mind.

Confident Tech ability - event project management systems, CRM systems etc… Experience managing teams / direct reports & be a natural team leader – organised, communicative, and proactive in people management.

Experience managing high level stake holders and their teams (E.A / Agents / Comms teams) - i.e local and international government representatives, high profile speakers with public profiles, artists, cultural icons Confident working cross-functionally and collaborating with multiple internal departments.

Track record of supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and relationship management.

Knowledge of B2C ticketing strategies and systems + Proven experience directing marketing function on communications and campaign planning to achieve ticket sales for large scale events Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Bonus Skills : Social media management Experienced with use of Cvent, Hubspot, Eventbrite, Zoom Experience running webinars or digital event components via Zoom or other platforms Passion for emerging trends, current affairs, motor industry, tech industry – with the ability to bring those insights into event design.

Familiarity with G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) is an advantage but not essential.
