Job Title Interim Head of Finance (Fixed term contract 9 months) About the Company Brightwater Executive is delighted to partner with our client, a large complex organisation based in Dublin in their search for an Interim Head of Finance. The Opportunity This is a pivotal leadership role within the organisations Finance Division, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the Finance Leadership Team, the successful candidate will lead external financial reporting, audit engagement and drive the evolution of the financial IT systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead critical areas of finance through a period of significant transformation and innovation. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategic Management Provide strategic leadership across external financial reporting and financial IT systems. Act as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team and deputise for the CFO as needed. External Financial Reporting & Audit Lead the preparation of the organisations statutory financial statements (FRS 102 compliant). Act as primary liaison with the C&AG during audit engagements. Represent the organisation at senior governance levels including Audit & Risk Committee and Governing Body. Oversee policy development and maintain accounting frameworks. Financial IT Systems Lead the strategy for the development of financial systems in partnership with Technology Services. Champion automation, self-service functionality, and ERP integration (Agresso). Drive data-led decision-making by improving real-time reporting and analytics capability. Team Leadership Manage and mentor a high-performing team of professional finance staff. Oversee resource planning, development, and performance across the reporting and systems teams. Experience / Requirements Experience engaging with audit bodies (e.g. C&AG) and presenting at senior governance forums. Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with 10+ years post-qualification experience in a senior finance or advisory role, within large-scale, complex organisations in the public and / or wider public sector. Proven track record in leading statutory financial reporting and external audit in large-scale organisations. Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale financial IT systems (Agresso, Oracle, SAP). 5+ years experience managing senior finance professionals in complex environments. Strong IT and financial systems acumen.
