Your new company An award-winning top 20 professional services firm with an ambitious growth strategy that is well underway are seeking a highly technically proficient Qualified Accountant to lead all things compliance, ethics and training in the firm. This is a newly created role as a result of growth and you will have the opportunity to build out a team to support you in ensuring full compliance and excellence across the firm. The firm currently has 10 partners and circa 100 staff with plans in place to double that by the end of the year, with all of this growth and change underway, that's where you come in to ensure processes and procedures are in place to adequately support this growth with the grade A rating and quality the firm are known for. Hybrid working is available for this role, but initially there is a strong preference to be fully office-based to really immerse yourself in the firm, however once you have demonstrated strong performance and productivity, the working from home flexibility will follow. Your new role The Head of Compliance & Excellence will ensure the firm stays abreast of all relevant laws, compliance, regulatory changes and ethical standards. Your duties will span across various areas including risk management, compliance process implementation, firm-wide training, technical audit guidance : Creating and implementing compliance processes and procedures, including the improvement of audit standards and programs Establish internal procedures to monitor compliance and deliver reporting to Partners on same Risk management duties will include identifying and assessing compliance risks, and developing and implementing a robust controls framework to mitigate those risks. Audit work - supporting Partners with compliance reviews on high-risk audit files and providing reports to support technically compliance audit opinions, assessing the effectiveness of the compliance program, generally supporting to ensure profitability on audit engagements and adherence to latest reporting standards Stay at the forefront of any changes in laws, regulations, technical matters, reporting standards and roll out training to all relevant parties in the firm Lead the development and delivery of training programs for the firm, ensuring staff are continuously upskilled on all compliance requirements and ethical conduct Prepare in-house memos and guidance manuals on evolving technical matters Liaise with external regulatory bodies Conduct and record annual staff appraisals Ad-hoc tasks include maintaining the firm's ISQC1 documentation, overseeing AML procedures and conflict of interest policy What you'll need to succeed The Head of Compliance & Excellence would ideally have done a similar role within professional services however the below experience is sought after for this role : ICAI (ACA), ACCA, CPA Qualification is a must-have requirement Small-medium accountancy practice trained is desirable Experience working with one of the professional accountancy bodies is highly advantageous People management experience with lived experience of training accountants is required Experience providing technical advice and guidance to partners and staff in a professional services settling Experience in creating and implementing compliance processes and procedures Strong corporate governance background in professional services or financial services You are a knowledge seeker who actively goes above and beyond to keep abreast of any regulatory changes, laws or technical requirements in the accountancy landscape What you'll get in return You will join a firm that will be within the top 10 firms in Ireland within the next 2 years, with a fast track to partnership and the opportunity to build out a compliance function that delivers excellence across the board. The salary range is flexible as this hire is really key for the firm, but as a guide in the range of €100,000 - €125,000 with benefits including 15% bonus, 5% pension, healthcare contribution, memebership fees covered and 25 days annual leave. Flexible working hours mean you can start between 8am-10am in the morning and finish between 4.30-6.30pm in the evening, to accommodate your work / life balance. Hybrid working is available once embedded into the company and will be agreed upon directly between yourself and the Managing Partner.
