Job Overview : Our client, a leading food distributor / retailer are looking for a Shunter Driver to join their team. The primary responsibility is to move and position trailers or containers within the distribution centre, ensuring the efficient flow of goods. Hourly Rate : €19.76 per hour Days / Hours : Monday to Friday, 12pm to 8 : 30pm (flexibility required) Licence Required : CE Drivers Licence Key Responsibilities : Shunting Operations : Manoeuvring trucks to move trailers or containers within the yard. Aligning trailers in loading and unloading bays for efficient cargo handling. Safety Compliance : Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations during shunting operations. Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and functionality. Communication : Communicating effectively with warehouse staff, truck drivers, and other personnel to coordinate movements and optimize yard efficiency. Equipment Operation : Operating shunting vehicles, which may include trucks with special modifications for yard operations. Record Keeping : Maintaining accurate records of trailer movements, arrival times, and departures. Troubleshooting : Identifying and reporting any mechanical issues or malfunctions with shunting vehicles. Qualifications and Skills : Valid commercial driver's license (CE). Experience in shunting operations or a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
