This modern, purpose built facility specialises in care for older persons, offering a rich and rewarding caseload that includes dementia, post-surgical rehabilitation, frailty, and cognitive decline. Located in Swords, this permanent role offers you the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of patients during a critical stage of their recovery. You will require a full clean Irish driving licence and access to a car for conducting off-site seating assessments. You will join a highly supportive and collaborative team, including experienced Senior Occupational Therapists and a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Manager who are on hand to offer mentorship and guidance always. Responsibilities : Manage a varied caseload of older adults across medical, surgical, and dementia-related conditions. Complete comprehensive assessments including functional, seating, cognitive, and mobility evaluations. Create tailored intervention and discharge plans, promoting independence and safety at home or in community care. Collaborate with nursing, medical, and allied health colleagues to ensure a coordinated, patient-centred approach. Support clinical governance, service planning, and supervise junior OT staff and students. Work closely with families and carers to support transitions in care and educate on long-term management strategies. Requirements : CORU-registered Occupational Therapist. Minimum 3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally including work with older people, stroke, dementia, or post-acute rehabilitation. Confidence in handling complex discharges, cognitive assessments, and assistive technologies. Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills, with a collaborative, MDT-driven approach. Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus. Eligibility criteria : Hold a recognised qualification BSc or MSc as an Occupational Therapist and have validation of your qualifications if you qualified outside the Republic of Ireland. Minimum 3+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally with exposure to older persons, rehab, or post-acute care. Registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist. Full clean Irish driving licence and access to a car for conducting off-site seating assessments. Experience with seating assessments and complex discharge planning is desirable. Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and time management skills. Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
