Were now looking to appoint a Senior Underwriter whos ready to lead the charge in building a specialist portfoliostarting in Ireland and growing into the wider European market. This is a standout opportunity for an experienced underwriter seeking autonomy, flexibility, and the chance to shape strategy in a high-potential niche. Youll be joining at an exciting growth phase, backed by a strong underwriting network and ambitious leadership. What Youll Be Doing : Portfolio Development : Build and lead a Medical Malpractice portfolio from scratch, establishing market presence in Ireland and beyond. Strategy & Governance : Define underwriting guidelines, pricing structures, and risk appetite in line with commercial goals. Market Growth : Forge relationships with brokers and MGAs across Ireland and Europe to drive new business and retention. Insight & Analysis : Stay ahead of trends, regulation, and competitor moves to constantly refine underwriting strategy. Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with internal teams and reinsurers to align on risk, pricing, and long-term growth plans. What Youll Bring : Underwriting Expertise : Strong track record in Medical Malpractice or other financial lines, ideally from an MGA or insurer environment. Self-Starter Mindset : Comfortable working independently and building something new from the ground up. Market Knowledge : In-depth understanding of the Irish insurance market; wider European exposure is a definite plus. Commercial Acumen : Strategic approach to pricing, risk, and product development in a niche space. Strong Communicator : Able to engage and influence both internally and externally with confidence.
