Senior financial accountant

On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a two-year FTC with the possibility of extension.

This is both a strategic and hands-on position, requiring close collaboration with senior leadership to enhance financial performance, ensure compliance, and improve reporting systems.

Responsibilities : Prepare and analyse financial statements, forecasts, and performance reports.

Provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Identify financial risks and opportunities, offering practical recommendations to management.

Lead the month-end process, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting.

Support preparation and submission of funding applications or reports, as applicable.

Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Ensure timely delivery of accurate financial data and maintain compliance with relevant standards.

Work with internal departments to identify reporting needs, provide meaningful KPIs, and create clear financial presentations.

Liaise with external providers overseeing payroll, tax compliance, AP.

Ensure compliance with relevant procurement or purchasing guidelines.

Lead or support initiatives to improve financial systems, controls, and efficiency.

Maintain adherence to ethical and operational standards across all finance-related activities.

Requirements : Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) Proven experience in a senior finance or accounting role Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities High attention to detail with strong organisational skills Comfortable working independently and taking initiative Skills : Senior Financial Accountant Financial Reporting Compliance
