We are looking for an Overhead Lines Commissioner with a minimum of 5 years experience in transmission and distribution or equivalent power industry experience. The successful candidate will have experience in Overhead Line inspections and commissioning. In support of ESB's strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, you will ensure a safe, reliable performance across the Network by delivering inspections, commissioning and performing condition assessments across the LV to 400kV OHL assets. Key Responsibilities Deliver Overhead Line (OHL) inspections and commissioning activities on ESB's Major Capital Work and Maintenance Programme, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards. Provide constructability support to OHL design teams, supporting efficient and safe project delivery from design through execution. Manage and report on follow-up maintenance actions arising from OHL inspections, ensuring timely resolution and system reliability. Lead the preparation and approval of condition assessment reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with asset management requirements. Coordinate and manage OHL maintenance patrol programmes, optimising resources and ensuring effective coverage. Oversee the planning and execution of drone inspection programmes across distribution and transmission networks. Manage all technical, commercial, and financial aspects of assigned projects, ensuring stakeholder alignment and delivery to scope, schedule, and budget. Experience and Qualifications Essential At least 5 years' experience in transmission and distribution, and generation; or equivalent power utility consultancy. Overhead Line Inspection and Commissioning experience Have an in-depth knowledge of ESB processes and practices. Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, design standards including Health, Safety & Environmental Standards, legislation and Electrical Safety Rules. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Strong commercial and project management capability. Desirable Project Management Qualifications Location This position will be based in Engineering & Major Projects at either Dublin Airport Central or Portlaoise. Regular travel (often at short notice) to ESB locations countywide is a feature of this position.
