DescriptionThe Biosensor team requires an energetic and highly motivated individual to help drive the development of various Electrochemical Biosensors.The primary focus will be on
1) sensor prognostics, investigating the use of different electrochemical techniques to get insight on the sensor state of health, and working closely with algorithm engineers to develop prognostics algorithms;2) sensor development.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be a strong Team player, with a willingness to work in a dynamic environment with teams across multiple sites to build out the technology portfolio into a new and successful business for ADI.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesAs part of the Design Team in the Biosensors group, the successful Development Engineer will :Work with other engineers to define and develop the infrastructure required to do all the sensor prognostics characterisation work.Select electrochemical techniques and apply them to investigate the state of health of the sensors, focusing on potentiometric sensors initially, but also expanding to amperometric sensors.Work with algorithm engineers on prognostics algorithm development work.Apply prognostics learning to any applicable sensor failure analysis (FA).Support sensor development activities, from initial sensor development to technology transfer to high-volume manufacturing.Collaborate cross-functionally with Test, Quality, Reliability, and other disciplines.Help establish a comprehensive Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio across all aspects of sensing; design, materials, packaging, test / calibration, algorithm and manufacturing flow.Maintain detailed Development documentation and present work to Biosensors Team.Qualifications & RequirementsRequired :BSc, MSc or PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.Previous experience in one or more of these areas : biosensors, electrochemistry, medical devices, materials science.Previous experience developing Ion Selective Electrodes, Enzymatic Sensors, Dissolved gas sensors, or other electrochemical sensors.Strong teamwork, inter-personal and communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to work at a high level of performance both independently and in teams.High levels of motivation and creativity, with an outgoing, positive attitude.An inquisitive nature and willingness to tackle multiple disciplinary challenges.Demonstrated record of execution and results, with high standards for performance.Desired :A minimum of 3 years working experience in diagnostics, biomedical devices, biotechnology, or a related industry.Previous experience working on electrochemical sensor development.Experience in sensor prognostics and industrial technology transfer.Experience in working to ISO 13485 (medical devices).For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and / or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
