Senior Speech and Language Therapist - Young Adults Multidisciplinary Team (SC24-708Y)

Job Description Applications are invited for the above Full-Time Permanent position. Applicants for Part-Time roles will also be considered. The Organisation : Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community-based services to people with intellectual disabilities in the Dublin area. We support people with a wide range of support needs across residential settings, day services, supported independent living, job advocacy and vocational training. Purpose of the Post : To provide a person-centered, evidence-based speech and language therapy service as part of a multi-disciplinary team to young adults between the ages of 17.5 and 29.5 years across various day services in North Dublin. This incorporates the provision of Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS) management and the provision of supports for communication skills, using a variety of approaches. The post holder will work in conjunction with members of the multidisciplinary young adult team (YAT) to enhance the quality of life of the people within the Young Adult Team service. Candidates must meet the following criteria relevant to the role : B achelor of Science in Clinical Speech and Language Studies from the University of Dublin or equivalent qualification. Professional Qualifications received outside the Republic of Ireland including the U.K must be validated by the Validation unit of CORU prior to commencement of employment. Registered with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist Membership or eligibility for membership of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT). Minimum of three years satisfactory post qualification experience Excellent communication skills Evidence of the ability to achieve results through effective collaboration in a complex environment. Salary and qualifications are in accordance with Department of Health consolidated pay scales. Salary Scale is Speech and Language Therapist, Senior : €63,912-€75,254 per annum.
