Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Ireland.
This role reports to the Head of Finance and works closely with the VP, Tax.
The position is responsible for overseeing Irish and international tax compliance, managing tax provision work, supporting transfer pricing initiatives, and assisting with international due diligence and M&A tax matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Irish and international tax, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Provision & Accounting for Income Taxes
Lead the preparation and review of the portfolio's quarterly (when required) and annual tax provisions.
Prepare supporting schedules for current and deferred tax calculations, including effective tax rate reconciliations.
Assess the impact of Irish, EU, and international tax law changes (including OECD reforms) on financial statements.
Support provision calculations related to international tax structures, including Pillar Two considerations.
Collaborate with corporate tax and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate tax accruals and disclosures.
Assist in automation and implementation of tax provision software solutions to improve efficiency.
Maintain organized documentation of provision workpapers, assumptions, and key judgments to support audit and compliance reviews.
Irish Tax Compliance Management
Manage the preparation and review of Irish corporate tax returns and related filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Oversee compliance processes including tax reporting, estimated tax payments, and extensions.
Coordinate with Head of Finance, M&A team, and external advisors on elections, relief claims, and research projects.
Maintain tax and audit records and ensure compliance with all applicable Irish and EU laws and regulations.
Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Transfer Pricing
Manage documentation of intercompany arrangements and ensure compliance with OECD transfer pricing guidelines.
Compile financial data for transfer pricing reports and benchmarking analyses.
Work with external advisors and internal stakeholders on new intercompany transactions.
Support transfer pricing audits and assist with dispute resolution strategies.
Monitor evolving international tax regulations, including OECD BEPS Pillar One and Two, and assess their impact.
International Due Diligence & Tax M&A Assistance
Assist with tax due diligence for acquisitions within the portfolio, including review of historical filings and identification of exposures.
Support onboarding of newly acquired entities by coordinating with local finance teams to gather tax information and align compliance processes.
Provide strategic tax planning recommendations for international expansion and entity restructuring.
Work with the VP of Tax and legal team to model transaction implications, prepare structuring documentation, and coordinate with external advisors.
Maintain transaction files and documentation for audit readiness.
Ad Hoc Research & Tax Structuring
Research and analyze new Irish, EU, and international tax legislation and regulatory changes, summarizing implications.
Provide tax input on operational matters and respond to queries from portfolio finance teams.
Support tax modeling and scenario planning for potential legislative changes and corporate tax strategies.
Assist with tax-efficient structuring for investments and repatriation strategies.
Support operating businesses as needed on tax audit defense strategies and responses to Irish Revenue and other foreign tax authority inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills
Professional accounting or tax qualification (e.g., Chartered Tax Adviser (AITI / CTA), ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
4+ years of post-qualification tax experience in practice or corporate environments, with strong exposure to Irish corporate tax and international tax matters.
Solid knowledge of Irish corporate taxation, tax accounting, transfer pricing, and international tax rules.
Experience managing tax compliance and provision processes.
Familiarity with M&A tax due diligence, structuring, and cross-border planning.
Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a decentralized, international environment.
