Job Description Product Manager (Automotive Aftermarket) Location : Dublin Reports to : Chief Purchasing Officer Department : Product Management Role Overview The Product Manager is responsible for managing and developing defined product categories within the automotive aftermarket. This role combines commercial, technical, and supplier management responsibilities to ensure the product ranges are competitive, profitable, and aligned with market demand. The Product Manager acts as the expert for their categories, driving sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction through effective product lifecycle management and strategic supplier partnerships. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Category Management Develop and execute category strategy to maximise sales, margin, and market share. Conduct regular range reviews to ensure optimal product mix, coverage, and competitiveness. Identify gaps in the range and bring new products to market quickly. Monitor product lifecycle, phasing in new lines and managing slow-moving or obsolete stock. Supplier & Sourcing Management Build strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to secure best pricing, terms, and support. Negotiate commercial agreements, rebates, and marketing support. Benchmark supplier performance and drive improvements in quality, lead times, and reliability. Market & Competitor Analysis Research and track aftermarket trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies. Use market intelligence to shape product positioning and pricing. Provide insights to sales and marketing teams to support growth initiatives. Commercial & Financial Performance Deliver agreed sales, margin, and profitability targets for assigned product lines. Monitor KPIs such as stock turnover, margin contribution, and product availability. Optimise stock levels. Technical & Customer Support Act as category expert, providing technical and product knowledge to sales teams and customers. Work with marketing to develop product literature, training materials, and online content. Support customer-facing activities including trade shows, events, and product launches. Skills & Experience Required Experience in product management, category management, or procurement in the automotive aftermarket (or related industry). Strong commercial awareness with proven ability to deliver sales and margin growth. Negotiation and supplier management skills. Analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales, pricing, and market data. Technical understanding of automotive components (braking, steering, filters, electrics, etc.) desirable. Strong communication and presentation skills. IT literate (Excel, ERP / MRP systems, PIM, catalogue systems). Key Attributes Results-driven, with a focus on profitability and growth.
