Senior Product Development Engineer

A Senior Product Development Engineer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Mayo based Pharmaceutical client. This is a 12-month contractor position. You would be responsible for managing and executing multiple complex product development programs from concept through commercial launch in the Pharmaceutical industry. THE ROLE Lead the end-to-end development of multiple new products, including design, process development, scale-up, and validation. Apply Quality by Design (QbD) and Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies to optimize formulation and manufacturing processes. Manage multiple development programs simultaneously, balancing priorities and resources across projects. Oversee technology transfer from development to pilot and commercial Ensure smooth process validation and commercial readiness. Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and root-cause investigations. Contribute to regulatory submissions by providing detailed technical documentation and justifications. Identify and implement new technologies, materials, and process improvements that enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability. Mentor junior engineers and scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. Support internal and external audits as a technical subject matter expert (SME). REQUIREMENTS Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical product or process development, with a demonstrated record of managing multiple programs. Proven experience in NPI ,process scale-up, and commercial technology transfer. Strong understanding of cGMP, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical lifecycle management.
