Process Engineer

Process Engineer - 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Westport, Co. Mayo) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer to join a leading global biopharmaceutical company based in Westport, Co. Mayo. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production and packaging operations as the site introduces new products and technologies. This position offers the chance to work with advanced systems and processes in a high-performing, regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support and engineering expertise across production and packaging operations. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in process efficiency, equipment reliability, and control systems. Identify, plan, and deliver production-related projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failures. Drive lean practices such as standard work and visual management tools. Maintain process and equipment performance to ensure consistent quality and compliance. Support operations teams to resolve technical issues promptly and effectively. Manage vendors and service providers for equipment and technology within the Business Unit. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and performance records. Support compliance activities, including change controls, audits, and deviation investigations. Requirements Third-level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering. 4+ years' experience in a high-volume automated manufacturing environment (pharma experience preferred). Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Proficiency in CMMS and quality systems (e.g., Maximo, One Vault) and MS Office tools.
