Applications are invited for positions of Technical Services Electrical Engineering role, Poolbeg CCGT.
Dublin Stations currently comprise of Poolbeg Closed Cycle Gas Turbine facility (CCGT), Dublin Bay Power and North Wall power plants.
As part of the Technical Services Team the Team Member is responsible for daily facility management along with long term project planning and execution of plant works and projects.
The Technical Services Team Member also provides and manages technical expertise across plant areas including fault finding and root cause analysis.
Supervision of work and contractors is a feature of the role along with management of team members.
The successful candidate will be a team player and self-starter with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage, develop and motivate team members to achieve optimum performance.
They will also have a demonstrable ability to communicate and relate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of these roles will include but are not limited to the following :
Support the Safety Leadership Framework, incorporating Safe and Sound and Safe System of Work, operated in the Dublin stations to achieve an incident and injury free work environment.
Maintain Asset Management Policies for the plant, in line with best practice.
Maintain the Critical Asset Register and Long Term Asset Plan.
Delivering projects including LTAP (Lifetime Asset Plan) projects, site specific projects and activities including plant investigations, technical and commercial project assignments.
Planning of outages and associated works including works programme, contracts, project and commercial documentation.
Managing tender preparation and other procurement related activities for projects being delivered.
Ensuring activities meet safety, environmental, quality, technical, and commercial targets.
Working within a team and engage effectively with all key internal and external stakeholders, agencies and be intimately aware of the various regulatory, licencing, and legislative frameworks under which stations operate.
Understand the challenges posed by the changing business environment in which stations operate and to drive change and flexibilities needed to address these challenges.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Experience and competence in Operations / Maintenance / Engineering Services of power plant and in power plant technologies, systems and procedures.
Strong familiarity with MV and LV electrical systems, including but not limited to switchgear, generators, transformers, excitation systems.
Strong familiarity with control & instrumentation systems.
Must be very comfortable reading and interpreting single line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical drawings.
Project Management and / or other professional qualifications.
Qualifications
A primary electrical engineering degree or similar or equivalent work experience is essential.
Location
The successful candidate will be based in Dublin Stations (Poolbeg CCGT, Dublin Bay Power and North Wall power plants).
Please note this position is fully site based.
Reporting To
The successful candidate will report to Technical Services Manager.
