Assistant Accountant About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our clients finance team within the service sector in Tullamore Offaly. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while contributing to the companys ongoing growth and efficiency. You will play a key role in financial management, reporting, and working closely with Financial Controller, management team and other departments. Hours of work 9-5pm onsite. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts. Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure timely reconciliations of bank and supplier accounts. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments. Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors. Maintain compliance with tax regulations and internal financial policies. Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous process improvement. Manage relationships with vendors, banks, and other external partners. Collaborate with HR on payroll processing and employee-related financial matters. Key Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Accounting Technician 35 years of accounting experience, preferably within the service sector or fast paced environment. Strong working knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Sage or similar). Proficiency in MS Excel . Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
