Job Purpose :
The Repair specialist is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing defective service parts for X-ray and trace detection equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to quality. Work is performed in a repair depot environment with exposure to electronic equipment and tools.
Based in Dublin, please be aware that there will be required to attend a 2 week training course in the United States.
Duties :
- Diagnose and troubleshoot defective service parts for X-ray and trace detection equipment down to the component level
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Test repaired parts to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications.
- Document repair processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues and suggest improvements to repair processes.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge and Skills :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics or a related field preferred.Proven experience in repairing and maintaining electronics.Strong understanding of electronic components and a strong understanding of diagnostic repair techniques.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.Soldering IPC J-STD-001 certification preferredCompetencies and Abilities :

Resource Management : Plan the use of tools, equipment, and spare parts to avoid shortages and ensure availability when needed.Maintenance Planning : Schedule regular maintenance checks for equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.Training and Development : Plan for ongoing training to stay updated with the latest repair techniques and industry standards.Diagnosis and Troubleshooting : Make informed decisions on identifying the root cause of equipment malfunctions and selecting appropriate repair methods.Safety Protocols : Implement and enforce safety measures to protect yourself and colleagues during repair activities.Process Improvement : Evaluate recurring issues and decide on improvements to repair processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.Collaboration : Decide when to seek assistance from colleagues or escalate complex issues to higher-level technicians or engineers.Impact and Scope :
