Job description As Simulator Pilot, you will act as a pseudo pilot to our Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) students in training. Your main responsibility is to operate the desktop simulator with the clearances and instructions given by the ATCOs. We provide facilities to ATCOs on behalf of our clients and deliver training to practice their skills in a range of different areas such as separation methods, training for new units, practicing responses to emergency situation and much more. You will for example : Make initial inputs to the simulator Ensure that the simulated aircraft adhere to the controllers instructions and exercise objectives Make radio calls for aircraft You will be given full training to provide the necessary skills for the job. The four week training period will start on November 10th and you need to be available for the full four weeks. Thereafter, it may be possible to combine this role with studies or another job. This is an employment contract on a mutual agreement basis meaning that you will be offered hours when there is high demand for pilots (Note. This also means that you may not be offered any hours for long periods of time). We will endeavour to provide a minimum of three weeks notice of where hours are available but you may be offered hours at short notice where an operational need arises. Working shifts are Monday to Friday, usually from 09.30 am to 05.30 pm but hours offered may not fall into a regular pattern or schedule. You may refuse hours when offered if they are unsuitable for you for any reason. The salary will be € 15.50 per hour. Employment will be subject to successfully passing the four weeks training period as well as Garda Vetting procedures. to learn more about the role as Simulator Pilot. Your team You will be part of a team of other Simulator Pilots and Simulator Specialists and along with the other colleagues in Shannon you will work to ensure that we deliver quality high training to our students. Your background We are looking for someone with : Ability to work well in a team environment and naturally adapt to change Excellent communication skills in English (speaking and writing) Interest in aviation Permit to work in Ireland Good PC skills as the Air Traffic Control simulator makes use of a desktop PC We are looking for an open-minded colleague with a willingness to learn new things. Your positive approach and ability to collaborate with your colleagues will be a success factor in this role. You have a high level of multitasking capability and adapt quickly to changes.
