Corporate Purchaser With Construction Industry Experience Salary / Remuneration Package Negotiable Overall Purpose Of Job : We are seeking a highly organized and experiencedCorporate Purchaser with a strong background in the construction industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to support multiple ongoing projects across the organization. Key Responsibilities : Source and procure materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects in line with budget and project timelines. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and favourable terms. Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and site supervisors to forecast material needs and delivery schedules. Maintain supplier relationships and continuously assess supplier performance for quality, delivery, and cost-efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and place orders to avoid shortages or delays in construction schedules. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal policies and industry regulations. Track and report on purchasing metrics and cost-saving initiatives. Manage purchase orders, invoices, and delivery confirmations within procurement software systems. Resolve issues related to delivery delays, defective materials, payment or delivery discrepancies. Stay informed on market trends, new materials, and supply chain developments relevant to the construction industry. Qualifications : Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of purchasing experience in the construction industry (commercialor residential). Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and logistics. Excellent negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental practices is a plus.
