BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND - SOUTHERN REGION The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland - Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area.

Applications are invited for the following : - ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGIST Ref : 51 / 2025 Specified Purpose contract for 2 years (39 hours per week) Children Disability Network Team 1 (North Kerry) Based in Listowel, Co.

Kerry (Outreach to Castleisland / Tralee) Job Summary This post is in Network 1 based in Listowel with outreach to families from Castleisland Farranfore area working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults, 0-18yrs and their families.

This will include children with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, children on the Autistic Spectrum and children at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs require the support of an interdisciplinary disability team.

This team is under the national model of service provision "Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People" lead by the HSE.

The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland.

The North Kerry Children Disability Network Team is based in Listowel with outreach to families from Castleisalnd and Farranfore area.

Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided by an interdisciplinary team.

The CDNT aims to maximise the child / young adult's full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents / care givers and family members.

The Assistant Psychologist will report Children's Disability Network Manager through the line management structure and will work under the supervision and direction of a nominated supervising Psychologist as appropriate to the needs of the Children's Disability Network Team.

The Assistant Psychologist will ultimately be responsible to the Director of Services.

The Assistant Psychologist works at all times under the supervision of a Psychologist in the CDNT to support the provision of services to children and families.

Their work will depend on service and team needs, and based on their knowledge, competencies and skill set.

The Assistant Psychologist is a member of the inter-disciplinary team and takes part in team meetings, training and development.

Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc Candidates must have professional qualification as per the Department of Health guidelines See job description for full criteria.

Eligible applicants must meet the following qualification requirements; Have a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited qualification at not less than Level 9 at 2.1 honours grade on the QQI qualifications framework in which Psychology was a major subject OR A Level 8 honours degree in another subject together with an accredited conversion qualification at a minimum of (2.1) as conferring eligibility for graduate mebership of the Psychological Society of Ireland OR A qualification equivalent to the above accredited by the British Psychological Society for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society OR A qualification equivalent to either

(i) or

(ii) which would allow the applicant to become a graduate member of PSI.

Have a knowledge and understanding of the Progressing Disability Services Model Driving Licence Must have a full driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads with means of transport.

Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018

• set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants.
• Public Servants not affected by this legislation : Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age.

Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70 4.

Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service 5.

Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character Salary Scale : €33,569
