Interim Discipline Manager - Principal Psychologist

Interim Discipline Manager, Principal Psychologist, Children's Disability Network Teams Full-time 12 month Fixed Term Contract (1 WTE 35 hours) The Children's Disability Network Manager (CDNM) is the Operational Line Manager for the Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT).

The Interim Principal Psychologist will work in collaboration with CDNMs in the Health Region and other Discipline Managers in CDNTS, Primary Care and CAMHS to ensure particular elements as set out in this Job Specification and that emerge as service priorities are progressed.

The Interim Prinicipal Psychologist is appointed to provide professional leadership, guidance, and support to Psychology staff within a multidisciplinary service model.

Their service focuses on developing high-quality, integrated services for children with complex needs and their families, ensuring professional standards are maintained, and collaborating with other key services like Primary Care and CAMHS.

The Interim Principal Psychologist will facilitate continuous quality improvement, manage clinical pathways, contribute to the development of policies and procedures, and provide support in managing issues such as referral intake, caseloads, and staff development.

The main focus of the role initially will be continuous improvement, clinical governance and service development and the role will report to the Kaizen Lead as part of the Kaizen Promotion Office.

The successful candidate will have the following essential requirements : A recognised University degree or diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject, A recognised postgraduate professional psychological qualification appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated Have at least eight years satisfactory post graduate experience in the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated inclusive of any time spent in pursuing a course leading to the post graduate qualification and including at least three years satisfactory experience in a senior capacity Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office In addition to the essential criteria outlined below, we are looking for someone who lives our core values : Person-Centredness - People with disabilities at the heart of everything Quality - Always meeting expected standards, learning from what we do and striving for better Respect - Honouring one another Courage - Leading with resolve Collaboration - Knowing that we're better when we work together Stewardship - Responsibly caring for and managing the assets and resources entrusted to us.

Candidates must also demonstrate : Particular experience of working in Children's Disability Services and have an understanding of the complexities of the needs of children accessing a CDNT Service.

Knowledge of the requirements of SLTs working on CDNTs, a clear understanding of the model of service and of the policies underpinning delivery of CDNT services.

It must be clearly demonstrated in your CV and supporting statement how you meet the required skills, competencies and knowledge for the post.

Department of Health Salary Scale apply, Prinicipal Psychologist Grade 3727 (current salary €114,961 - €133,271).
