Civils Site Engineer Location: Meath (Site-Based) Salary: €70,000 €80,000 + Package (DOE) Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Overview An established civil engineering contractor is seeking a Civils Site Engineer to manage setting out, technical compliance, and engineering controls for utility, infrastructure, and heavy groundworks projects across County Meath. Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Foreman, you will be responsible for ensuring all line, level, and structural measurements are 100% accurate, resolving technical design issues on-site, and monitoring subcontractor workmanship against construction programme milestones. Key Responsibilities Setting Out & Surveying: Execute precise setting out and surveying for deep drainage, utilities, concrete foundations, and road infrastructure using total stations, GPS equipment, and levelling instruments. Technical Information Control: Review, interpret, and work directly from structural design drawings, checking for design discrepancies and managing the Request for Information (RFI) log. Quality Assurance: Conduct pre-pour and post-pour concrete inspections, verify material certifications, and maintain strict quality control records and as-built drawings. Subcontractor Oversight: Supervise specialist subcontractors and groundworks crews, ensuring compliance with client technical specifications and safety standards. Progress Tracking: Assist in compiling daily and weekly productivity reports, material requisitions, and tracking variations for review by the commercial team. Requirements Experience: Minimum 36 years operating as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer within a civil engineering or heavy groundworks contracting environment. Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a closely related construction discipline. Technical Skills: Complete proficiency with modern surveying instrumentation (Leica/Topcon total stations and GPS) and AutoCAD software for drawing adjustments. Certifications: Valid Safe Pass and a full clean driving licence.
