Financial Controller

Financial Controller Wicklow- Hybrid Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer Optimize Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an experienced Financial Controller on behalf of a leading international organisation with operations across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. This is a senior Finance role offering the opportunity to work closely with the CFO and play a key part in the continued development of the Finance function. The Role As Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for financial reporting, controls, treasury and operational finance, while leading and developing a team of four finance professionals. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the CFO with the strategic development of the Finance function. Overseeing monthly and annual management accounts and financial reporting. Ensuring strong financial controls and statutory/regulatory compliance. Managing supplier and subcontractor finance functions. Leading and developing a team of four. Managing treasury, cash flow forecasting, FX exposure and credit management. Working with auditors, tax advisers and other external stakeholders. Driving improvements across Finance systems, processes, reporting and governance. Supporting financial planning, forecasting and senior-level decision-making. The Person We are looking for a commercially focused and experienced finance professional who can combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will ideally have: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification. Minimum 5 years' senior-level experience in Financial Control, Group Finance or Commercial Finance. Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge. Experience managing and developing a Finance team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Excel and financial systems/ERP experience. Experience with treasury, cash flow and financial controls. The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
