Job Description We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to work full-time on renewable energy construction sites in Ireland, primarily utility-scale solar PV projects. The HSE Manager will lead the day-to-day implementation of health, safety and environmental requirements, maintain current project documentation, and verify that site activities comply with Irish legislation, planning conditions, permits, client requirements and approved project plans. The role will work closely with our clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and relevant authorities to coordinate all aspects of the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare, manage and continuously update the Project HSE Plan, Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Environmental Management Plan, Traffic Management Plan and associated sub-plans, registers and records. Ensure compliance with applicable Irish HSE and environmental legislations, planning conditions, licences, permits and client requirements. Carry out regular site inspectionsaudits and safety & environmental reviews Review contractor competence, RAMS, risk assessments, environmental aspect/impact assessments, method statements, permits to work, training records and certifications Deliver and coordinate site inductions, toolbox talks and targeted HSE/environmental training, maintain the training matrix and verify that requirements are understood and implemented on site. Monitor controls for traffic, waste, pollution prevention, fuels and chemicals, dust, noise, water, drainage, ecology and protected habitats/species in accordance with the CEMP and applicable permits. Lead incident investigations and corrective actions Provide clear advice to the Site and Project Management teams and liaise, as required, with the client, designers, subcontractors, local authorities, the HSA, EPA and other relevant bodies. Escalate and address significant HSE issues and non-compliances Qualifications Relevant qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental management or a related discipline. Recognised professional certification is an advantage. At least 5 years of HSE experience in Irish construction. Experience from utility scale solar PV projects is strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of Irish construction safety legislation, the PSCS/PSDP framework, environmental regulation, planning conditions and construction-related permits. Experience preparing and implementing CEMP, HSE plans, environmental sub-plans, audit programmes, permit-to-work systems and incident investigations.
