Finance Director Location: Dublin - full time onsite Reporting structure:Reporting to Managing Director Ireland Duration:Full Time Permanent About us Based in Dublin Airport Logistics Park, dnata Catering & Retail Ireland provides catering and inflight services to several international airlines operating from Dublin, Cork & Shannon Airport. In September 2020, we expanded operations with a state-of-the art facility that quadrupled our catering capacity to enable the delivery of 40,000 quality inflight meals a day. Covering an area of 6,300m, our new facility is equipped with the latest technologies. Whats the purpose of role: The Finance Director is a key member of the dnata Catering & Retail Ireland Executive Leadership Team, responsible for leading the finance function and providing strategic financial leadership to support the delivery of the company's business objectives. The role is accountable for financial planning, reporting, governance, compliance, risk management, commercial decision support and business performance improvement. Working closely with the Managing Director and regional finance leadership, the Finance Director will drive financial performance, support growth initiatives and ensure robust controls are in place within a complex operational environment serving airline customers across Ireland. This role will also have reporting to them the Head of IT. Who youll deal with: Internal; Support Functions, Department Heads, Senior Leadership Team, Internal Stakeholders including HQ in Dubai External; Auditors, banking partners, Revenue Commissioners, airline customers and business partners, regulatory authorities and professional advisors Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Partner with the Managing Director and leadership team to develop and execute the business strategy. Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Translate business objectives into financial plans and performance targets. Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimisation and operational efficiencies. Support investment decisions, business cases and capital expenditure proposals. Strategic oversight of the IT function ensuring alignment of technology with business goals. Guiding digital transformation and infrastructure upgrades Ensuring the IT Department is run with governance, risk and compliance to the forefront Sponsor technology-enabled continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP, HR, finance and operational systems. Financial Planning & Analysis Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes. Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to local, regional and group stakeholders. Develop meaningful KPIs and performance dashboards to drive accountability across the business. Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying risks and opportunities. Provide commercial insight to improve profitability and customer value. Control & Governance Ensure effective financial, system and network controls, policies and procedures are maintained across the organisation. Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, regulatory and corporate reporting requirements. Manage internal and external audit processes. Maintain strong governance frameworks and risk management practices. Commercial & Business Partnering Act as a trusted advisor to operational and functional leaders. Support contract negotiations, pricing strategies and customer profitability analysis. Evaluate commercial opportunities, strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions. Challenge assumptions and drive data-based decision-making throughout the business. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management Lead cash flow forecasting and treasury activities. Optimise working capital performance. Ensure effective management of capital expenditure and balance sheet performance. Drive initiatives to improve cash generation and financial sustainability. Risk Management & Compliance Identify and mitigate financial, operational and commercial risks. Ensure compliance with Irish accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies. Maintain appropriate insurance and risk management frameworks. Promote a culture of ethical conduct and strong financial stewardship. Leadership & People Management Lead, mentor, develop and inspire the finance team. Manage the Head of IT Build organisational capability through coaching, succession planning and talent development. Foster a high-performance, collaborative and customer-focused culture. Champion continuous improvement. systems and financial excellence. What youll have: Essential: Ideally you will have 5 or more years experience with end-to-end operational financial processes and implementing financial and system controls in a medium size business Must have at least 2 years experience in a role reporting to Senior Stakeholders (i.e. CFO, CEO, Board of Directors) Hands-on and can-do approach is essential for this role - (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA)
