The candidate will be required to provide services to residents in the following locations :

St Doolaghs Park Care & Rehabilitation Centre, Malahide Road, Balgriffin, Dublin 17

Elm Green Nursing Home, Dunsink Lane, Castleknock, Dublin 15

Riverview Community Living, Dunsink Lane, Castleknock, Dublin 15

We provide a high quality, specialised assessment and neurorehabilitation service for people with complex cognitive/physical/behavioural/emotional difficulties following an acquired brain injury.

Purpose of Role:

The role of the senior psychologist is to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessment and neurorehabilitation services to adults with acquired brain injuries.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in:

• Working with adults with acquired brain injuries, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, neurological conditions, and associated cognitive, behavioural, emotional, and psychological difficulties.
• Conducting psychological, cognitive, and neuropsychological assessments and interpreting psychometric assessment results.
• Developing clinical formulations and delivering evidence-based psychological and therapeutic interventions.
• Conducting functional behavioural assessments and developing, implementing, and reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Working with individuals presenting with complex cognitive, physical, behavioural, emotional, and psychological needs.
• Supporting individuals through neurorehabilitation programmes, including goal setting, rehabilitation planning, and community reintegration.
• Conducting capacity assessments and applying relevant legal, ethical, and professional frameworks to clinical practice.
• Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and contributing to case conferences, clinical reviews, risk assessments, safeguarding, and discharge planning.
• Providing psychological consultation, advice, and psychoeducation to residents, families, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Delivering staff training, education, workshops, presentations, and clinical consultation.
• Providing clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologists and supporting the development of junior members of the psychology team.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, preparing high-quality psychological reports, and contributing to clinical governance, audit, service evaluation, accreditation, and quality improvement.
• Managing a comprehensive and complex clinical caseload while demonstrating excellent organisation, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.

Essential

• Recognised Honours Degree in Psychology.
• Recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, or an equivalent relevant professional qualification.
• Candidates who have completed their professional training outside the Republic of Ireland must have their qualifications appropriately validated/recognised by the relevant Irish professional and regulatory authorities prior to appointment/interview, where applicable.
• Eligibility for, and/or current registration with, the relevant professional psychological regulatory body, as applicable.
• The successful candidate must be fully professionally qualified and eligible to practise independently at the time of appointment.
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant postgraduate psychology experience, including relevant experience gained following professional qualification and/or during recognised postgraduate professional training.
• Relevant specialist training and clinical experience in acquired brain injury (ABI), neurorehabilitation, neuropsychology, cognitive assessment, behavioural support, and psychological intervention.
• A full, clean driving licence and access to private transport, as the role may require travel between Trinity Care locations.
