Underwriting Manager

Job Title : Underwriting Manager Location : Dublin Working Model : Hybrid (2-3 days in the office per week) Abrivia are currently recruiting for an Underwriting Manager to join our client.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced underwriting leader to manage and develop a high-performing team within the commercial lines space.

Your Role Lead and manage a team of 6 underwriters and support staff.

Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the commercial department.

Manage broker relationships, including authority for signing off larger discounts.

Ensure compliance and monthly audit processes are met.

Chair weekly underwriting meetings and provide input at board level.

Support product development, renewal retention and broker analysis.

Deliver performance and sales reporting in line with business objectives.

Provide training, appraisals and leadership to ensure the team continues to perform at a high level.

Your Skills Strong background in commercial underwriting across a range of products.

Proven experience in managing or leading underwriting teams.

Excellent broker relationship and negotiation skills.

Strong technical knowledge and ability to oversee compliance and audit requirements.

Commercially aware, with the ability to contribute to product development and departmental strategy.

Confident leader with strong organisational and reporting skills.
