Resident Engineer - Civils Location : Galway City Salary : €60-€70k DOE Duration : 1218 months, commencing November 2025. Package & Benefits Vehicle provided for the duration of the works. 25 days annual leave, plus the option to purchase 5 additional days. Standard 40-hour week (8 hrs / day, MondayFriday) with occasional weekend or night works if required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer who thrives in a site environment and is motivated to deliver impactful infrastructure projects. Qualifications & Experience Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Strong experience in civil engineering, with proven track record in supervision and contract administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software (AutoCAD or similar). Knowledge and experience of Public Works contracts. Hands-on experience in roadworks construction (pavement, drainage, ducting, signage, lighting). Experience in active travel scheme design (desirable but not essential). Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong understanding of H&S regulations and best practice. Full driving licence and valid SafePass required. Key Responsibilities Supervision of site works and quality inspections. Administration of Public Works Contracts for Civil Engineering projects. Stakeholder and client liaison, ensuring effective communication and reporting. Monitoring contractor progress and maintaining detailed records. Contract administration, including valuations and claims assessment. Supporting the Senior Resident Engineer and Clerk of Works / Inspector as part of a collaborative team.
