Job description

he Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality fresh food within a corporate catering environment. Working as part of the kitchen team, the role supports the Chef Manager in maintaining exceptional food standards, customer satisfaction, food safety compliance, and efficient kitchen operations.


Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to company standards.
  • Produce fresh breakfast and lunch offerings for customers.
  • Assist with hospitality and event catering requirements.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served within agreed service times.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.

Kitchen Operations

  • Support daily kitchen operations and service delivery.
  • Assist with stock rotation and inventory management.
  • Receive and check deliveries, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Minimise food waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
  • Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained correctly.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow HACCP procedures and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies at all times.
  • Complete food safety documentation and temperature records accurately.

Teamwork & Customer Service

  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and guests.
  • Support colleagues during busy service periods.
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and service improvements.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, or similar role.
  • Experience within corporate catering, contract catering, hospitality, or restaurant environments.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Good understanding of HACCP and food safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Professional Cookery Qualification or equivalent desirable.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
  • HACCP knowledge essential.
