Requirements:
- QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or a relevant field (Full award)
- Experience of working with children/adults in the field of intellectual disability
- Full manual driving licence and access to your own transport.
- A degree of flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and helping them maximise their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily personal care and support (dressing, hygiene, toileting, etc.).
- Support service users in leisure, work, and daily living activities, encouraging community participation.
- Monitor and report on service users' physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist in implementing individual care programmes, including for those with challenging behaviour.
- Accompany and transport service users to and from services, outings, and appointments.
- Participate in supporting service users during holidays, hospital stays, or therapy sessions (including pool use if required).
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Keep all areas clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Help train and support new staff
- Use all equipment and aids safely and correctly.
- Report and record all accidents, incidents, and faulty equipment.
- Follow safety policies and legal obligations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures and ensure fire safety measures are upheld.
